Why Our 100% Kona Coffee?

The Kona Coast on the Island of Hawaii has a long reputation for producing a distinct, rich-tasting gourmet coffee. Our Ro-Jo premium, whole-bean, 100% Kona Coffee exemplifies this tradition.

Coffee Arabica has been grown on the slope of Mauna Loa for more that 150 years. The region's rich volcanic soil, bright sunny mornings, and tropical afternoon showers provide unique growing conditions. Here, the beans mature slowly, developing the complexity and density present in only the highest grade coffee.

Our beans are pesticide free, and only the plumpest red fruit is hand-plucked for harvest. They are sun-dried, and locally fired to a vibrant medium plus roast. This reveals the nutty depth for which the Kona crop is prized.

We have been certified as an Estate farm by the Kona Coffee Farmer's Association and the Kona Coffee Council. Estate Coffee is the product of one farm, unmixed with crops from other farms, and processed to its final (roasted or unroasted) state under the control of that estate farm.

Estates produce unique coffees, each with its own flavor and aroma profile and with its own label, comparable to the different wines from the individual estates in the Napa Region of California for example, as opposed to a generic wine from mixed grapes.

Estate coffee is exclusively from one farm, and always 100% Kona coffee.
